A beautiful, dramatically swirled soap with natural Berry extract, this soap has the gorgeous, delicious smell of Blackcurrants and Blackberries. Only in the 16th century did currants become popular, when their health-giving properties were realised. All currants are very rich in vitamin C, but the black even more so. They also have twice as much vitamin A, about one and one-half times as much potassium, calcium and phosphorus, and nearly five times as much Vitamin C. When the soap is mixed, we add the fruits and essential oils at the very end of the manufacturing process so that their therapeutic properties are kept. It is also at this time that we add oils to “superfat” the soap. These oils are very special and do not saponify (i.e. turn into soap) but stay in the bar as an emollient element. The Blackcurrant seed oil that is included in this bar is rich in GLA (gamma Linolenic acid), which can help to reduce water loss, restoring skin smoothness and elasticity. We include the exclusive Blackcurrant Bud Absolute in this soap, which has fantastic anti-oxidant properties and the Ribes Nigrum provides rich, red fruit notes to this bar. Coloured naturally with roots, spices and clays. Suitable for all skin types, especially normal to dry and mature.
